Caution: neoprene is a porous synthetic rubber, pleasant to the touch but with consequent limited cut resistance. If the dumbbells are subjected to abrasions, bumps, and falls, the neoprene cover can cut and peel off. Neoprene dumbbells are therefore not suitable for abrasive exercises, e.g., burpees, and falls in dumbbell racks and baskets.
