Spur-Stay Climber Pads Developed by a local lineman over 40 years ago, Bashlin introduced the 105 series “Spur-Stay” climber pads with metal inserts for the lineman looking for comfort and shank control. Some of the original users were mocked for using these pads because comfort was not considered “manly”. (This is when a climber pad was a single piece of leather measuring 3 inches by 3 inches.) The Spur-Stay design allows the climber to adjust the position of the shank, and eliminates “kick-back”. It is available in nylon or leather material with straps, or with hook and loop (Velcro) closures. Nylon Climber Pads with Hook & Loop (Velcro): Constructed from woven nylon w/ hook n’ loop closure for extra security. Features an angled metal insert that provides addtional climber control.
